Dr. Walker’s Story

My journey to OBGYN started during medical school, while I was still exploring all specialties, when I watched my wife struggle to receive care through her pregnancies and miscarriages. It was at that point that I dedicated my career to women’s healthcare. I have since expanded my horizon beyond just pregnancy and miscarriages. However, those will always be an important part of my practice, providing evidence-based and compassionate care at every stage of a woman’s health journey.  As a board-certified OBGYN, I look forward to partnering with you in whatever stage of your health journey you are on–from pregnancy, to infertility, to miscarriages, to contraception,  to menstrual problems, to menopause–I will work tirelessly to ensure that you are receiving the highest level of competent and respectful medical care that I would expect for my own family.

Let me start off by saying DR WALKER is AMAZING. I originally was seeing Dr Brooke but due to my circumstances I needed to see Dr Walker. I can say I’m going to stick with him. Yea it’s a wait time but I promise you it’s so worth it. Dr walker takes his time he actually LISTENS to your concern he don’t rush you or brush you off. If I could give him 10 stars I would thanks again Dr Walker.

If you’re struggling to conceive, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to navigate this process by yourself. One of the best places to start is with your Ob-Gyn. If it has been 6 months and you keep getting negative pregnancy tests, then please schedule an appointment. I can evaluate many infertility concerns and begin effective treatments right here in my office. Most patients don’t need expensive IVF. But if your situation would benefit from more advanced care, I work closely with trusted infertility specialists to make sure you’re fully supported. I didn’t grow up imagining this career, but life has a way of shifting your plans when you least expect it. For me, everything changed when my wife and I welcomed our two kids into the world—and when we also walked through the heartbreak of miscarriage. Those experiences opened my eyes to how deeply meaningful women’s healthcare is and how much compassionate care matters. In medical school, I found myself drawn to the blend of science, problem-solving, and steady-handed work that Ob-Gyn requires… but even more to the privilege of walking with families through some of their most important moments. That’s when I knew this was the field I was meant to be in. I trained at Texas A&M College of Medicine and Baylor Scott & White in Temple, TX, where I was honored to be selected by my peers for the Gold Humanism Honor Society—an award that recognizes physicians who provide the kind of care you’d want for your own family. That’s always been my philosophy: to treat every patient the way I’d want my wife, mother, or daughter to be treated. Today, I’m grateful to practice at Omega Ob-Gyn, caring for patients through everything from routine and high-risk pregnancies to infertility evaluations, contraception, minimally-invasive surgeries, and well-woman care from adolescence through menopause. Outside the office, you can usually find me with my wife and kids, on a long run, keeping an eye on the football score, or sneaking in a round of golf. It wasn’t the path I originally planned—but it’s exactly where I’m meant to be.

Staying active during pregnancy is one of the best things you can do for your health—and your baby’s. I recommend at least 30 minutes per day of physical activity. Benefits include improved sleep, reduced back pain, healthy weight gain, less risk for gestational diabetes, and less risk for C-section. Most patients can safely continue moderate exercise like walking, swimming, stationary cycling, strength training, and prenatal yoga. Avoid laying flat on your back for prolonged periods after 20 weeks gestation and now is NOT the time to try to set personal records on the track or at the gym. The key is to listen to your body, avoid overheating, practice good form, stay hydrated, and stop if something doesn’t feel right. And of course—always check with your provider if you have any concerns or a high-risk pregnancy. You don’t have to be perfect; you just have to begin.
